Ama yalnız gözlerinden değil;
Taşlarından, sokaklarından,
Yıkılmış evlerinden ağlıyor.

Bir kadın kapının önünde bekliyor,
Dönecek sandığı insanları
Yıllardır bekliyor.
Bir baba gökyüzüne bakıyor,
Çocuğuna verecek ekmek arıyor,
Kendi yüreğinde
Bir dünya kadar ağır taşıyor.

Ey dünya,
Duyuyor musun bu sessizliği?

Bir çocuk soruyor:
“Ben neden korkuyorum?”
Cevap veren yok.
Çünkü korkunun dili yok,
Ama enkazın altında
Adı olan binlerce hikâye var.

Evler yıkılır,
Ama hatıralar yıkılmaz.
Ağaçlar kesilir,
Ama kökler unutmaz.
Bir şehir susturulabilir,
Ama bir halkın hafızası
Toprağın altında bile konuşur.

Bir gün gelecek,
Bu taşlar soracak hesabını tarihe.
Kim sustu?
Kim baktı?
Kim duydu da yüzünü çevirdi?

Ve çocukların sesi
Bir gün yeniden yükselecek:

“Biz sadece yaşamak istedik.
Bir evimiz olsun istedik.
Bir soframız,
Bir okul yolumuz,
Gökyüzüne bakarken korkmadığımız
Bir sabahımız olsun istedik.”

Filistin...

Bir ülkenin adı değil yalnızca.
Bir annenin duası,
Bir çocuğun oyuncağı,
Bir babanın yarım kalan rüyası,
Bir evin kapısında asılı kalan anahtar,
Bir toprağın unutmadığı isimdir.

Ve dünya unutsa bile,
Taşlar unutmaz.

Çünkü bazı acılar
Mezar taşlarına sığmaz.

Bazı çığlıklar
Gökyüzünde kalır.

Ve bazı çocuklar
Büyüyemeden
Tarihin en ağır sorusuna dönüşür:

“Beni neden korumadınız?”

LET THE STONES REMEMBER

Another night falls over Gaza,
Another sky forgets the dawn.
A mother holds her child in silence,
Whispering, “Stay with me, hold on.”

The streets remember little footsteps,
The laughter that is heard no more.
A broken window, an empty cradle,
A family waiting by a door.

And somewhere underneath the silence,
A thousand voices call the night.
If the world can hear the crying,
Why does nobody turn on the light?

Let the stones remember,
Let the whole world hear,
Every child who called for shelter,
Every mother’s fear.

Let the rivers carry
Every name they know.
You can bury homes beneath the ashes,
But you cannot bury hope.

Oh Palestine, Palestine,
Your tears will not be lost.
Let the stones remember
What the silence cost.

A father searches through the darkness,
For something left from yesterday.
A photograph, a little sweater,
A piece of home that time can't take.

A woman stands beneath the moonlight,
Her hands are trembling in the cold.
She carries memories like a candle,
Protecting stories never told.

And somewhere underneath the ruins,
A dream is waiting to be born.
For every child who lost tomorrow,
There must be a brighter dawn.

Let the stones remember,
Let the whole world hear,
Every child who called for shelter,
Every mother’s fear.

Let the rivers carry
Every name they know.
You can bury homes beneath the ashes,
But you cannot bury hope.

Oh Palestine, Palestine,
Your tears will not be lost.
Let the stones remember
What the silence cost.

One day the children will ask us:

“Why did you let us cry?”

And history will answer
When every voice denied
The pain beneath the morning,
The shadows in the sky.

No more silence.
No more turning away.

Let every fallen dream
Become a prayer for peace someday.

Let the stones remember,

Let the whole world hear,
Every child who called for shelter,
Every mother’s fear.

Let the rivers carry
Every name they know.
You can bury homes beneath the ashes,
But you cannot bury hope.

Oh Palestine, Palestine,
We will remember you.
Through every broken window,
Through every sky of blue.

Let the stones remember,
Let the silence end.
For every child who lost a tomorrow,
Let tomorrow come again.

Palestine...

Let the stones remember.

Let the children dream again.

Let the morning come.
